In the novel, Teasle is proven to have been in the Korean War, as he is said to have served at the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. The novel explains that Teasle hates Vietnam veterans for upstaging the sacrifices the forgotten Korean War veterans like himself made, and for how Vietnam veterans are usually unemployed and scruffy. The film never states Teasle's backstory explicitly, but it strongly hints at it by showing Korean war medals in Teasle's office, so you can argue that a similar backstory applies to Teasle in the film. There was a myth that the actor who portrayed Teasle was an actual Korean War veteran. However, Brian Dennehy was born in July 1938; with the Korean War starting in 1950, making Dennehy only 12 when it started. Dennehy enlisted in the USMC from 1958 to 1963. In multiple interviews he described being wounded in combat & repeatedly claimed he served in Vietnam. In 1999 he apologised for misrepresenting his military record, stating “I lied about serving in Vietnam & I am sorry. I didn’t mean to take it away from the actions & sacrifices of the ones who really did serve there….i did steal valour. That was very wrong of me. There was no real excuse for that”. Possibly one the darkest moments of the Vietnam War, was the My Lai Massacre. In March 1968, between 347 and 504 unarmed people were killed by U.S. Army soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment and Company B, 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 11th Brigade, 23rd (Americal) Infantry Division. Victims included men, women, children, and infants. Some of the women were gang-raped and their bodies mutilated, and some soldiers mutilated and raped children who were as young as 12. Twenty-six soldiers were charged with criminal offenses, but only Lieutenant William Calley Jr., a platoon leader in C Company, was convicted. Found guilty of murdering 22 villagers, he was originally given a life sentence, but served three-and-a-half years under house arrest after President Richard Nixon commuted his sentence. I can highly recommend the Ken Burns documentary The Vietnam War. It features archive footage & also interviews with veterans from the US, as well as Vietnamese veterans & civilians. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails, scored the series, providing both original music and a compilation soundtrack of popular songs.

I watched EP4 in 1977 in the theaters with my parents. I am a true SW fan (watching every movie opening night ever since). When I saw TLJ opening night with my family, I turned to my wife and said, "I think I liked it, but it wasn't Star Wars". Watching UA-cam videos that agreed with my opinion, I was pushed into an echo chamber of Republican view points. Not exactly sure how not liking a movie did this, but I have been stuck in this echo chamber ever since. Really glad to see a younger generation feel the same way.

This is a good example of a sequel that's about as good as the original. Some common criticisms of Blade 2 is the increase in cgi effects, especially the obviously-animated fight in front of the spotlights. The original had some great practical effects, and Blade Trinity kind of went back towards the practical effects. And it was exciting to see Donnie Yen as one of the vampires, but his minimal screentime was kind of a disappointment. Ron Pearlman was as good as ever, and Nomak is a much more menacing and formidable villain than Deacon Frost. The first two Blade movies are among my all-time favorites. Blade: Trinity not so much.

Nothing Arnold does in this type of movie role is low profile.

I like Evil Dead more for its right balance of humor and horror. The comedy elements is what sets the Evil Dead franchise apart from other horror series.

You should be watching the Richard Donner cut of "Superman II" which is closer to the original intent of the film. Donner's version is the perfect counterpart to the original.

39:40 Predator code of honor prohibits attacking the unarmed and condemns hunting the terminally ill as their illness makes them unable to defend themselves. So it ignored Weyland cuz he would basically be committing a dishonorable act or by a cultural/legal standpoint of the predator society, a crime by attacking the terminally ill and unarmed (Weyland was terminal hence why it didn't kill him until he could prove his condition didn't make him an unworthy prey/dishonorable kill and the MC in all scenes with the predator was unarmed until the predator armed her)

In this movie it is explained by the Sebastian that these are teenage predators who are basically having a coming of age ceremony. Think of it like predators have a practical exam for becoming an adult. Hence these teenage predators are as we've seen eager to hunt and kill, reckless/careless and somewhat merciful. In the sense that they rush head first into combat without confirming the presence of a third party (Xenomorphs) like the first two did, 3rd didn't check or secure his surroundings before marking himself and since he's not an adult and this is basically an exam with examiners watching, it would make sense he would like to score some brownie points with the examiners by showing he is respectful and helpful to fellow warriors even if they are not the same species.

Ever since this movie came out there has been conspiracy theories about us living in a simulation type of world and analyzing how life really is the truth is that it could either be that we are living in a simulation or not, we are simple humans living a banal life. Loved your reaction btw
